Big Cats of the Mara
The Masai Mara Region is unrivaled for big cat viewing. The area is outstanding for all three big cat species, cheetah, leopard and lion. Many individual cats gained fame through the Big Cat Diaries series and guides in the region continue to name many of the cats. Our legendary guides worked with the BBC on Big Cat Diaries Live, and Disney flimmakers on African Cats. They know the individual cats and continue to follow their lives as they observe them with our guests.
During the low season months the guides will be compiling photos and profiles of the Big Cats of the Mara so check back in early 2017 to learn about the individual cats and lion prides.
